Rowing is a fantastic way to get fit, supple and strong, and make a whole new group of friends in the process. Whether you see yourself racing in six months time, or would simply like to try something new and like the thought of paddling about on a river, learning to row at Maidstone is the perfect starting point to make the most out of the sport.
MIRC runs courses specifically designed for those who have never rowed before, and introduces all elements of the sport – from skills and manoeuvrability in a single sculling boat, to rowing as part of a crew, and aspects of fitness and land training.
We aim to run several courses throughout the year. Each course consists of three full days, usually spread over consecutive Sundays, led by a British Rowing qualified coach. You will also receive a discount off your first year’s membership should you decide to join us, which we sincerely hope you do!
Courses are booked via our WebCollect membership site.
The club ran three courses in 2025. These have now finished and there will be no further courses this year.
