Rowing is a fantastic way to get fit, supple and strong, and make a whole new group of friends in the process. Whether you see yourself racing in six months time, or would simply like to try something new and like the thought of paddling about on a river, learning to row at Maidstone is the perfect starting point to make the most out of the sport.
MIRC runs courses specifically designed for those who have never rowed before, and introduces all elements of the sport – from skills and manoeuvrability in a single sculling boat, to rowing as part of a crew, and aspects of fitness and land training.
We aim to run several courses throughout the year. Each course consists of two full days over a weekend, led by a British Rowing qualified coach. You will also receive a discount off your first year’s membership should you decide to join us, which we sincerely hope you do!
The next Learn to Row courses are planned for April 2020. Please note that we are already oversubscribed for these courses and therefore the list is currently closed. There are not likely to be any further courses until the autumn.
If you would like to find out more, please contact the Learn to Row lead coach via the details below.
NB: All applicants must be over 18 and able to swim 100m in light clothing. If you are under 18 and are interested in joining our junior section please go to the junior page on this website for further details.
